Fourth annual exhibition, one of our most requested exhibits includes artwork that represents the many faces of the crow in reality and fantasy. Having taken on mythological importance, crows appear in all parts of the world. In folklore, they may foreshadow tragedy or usher in good news. The reality is a highly intelligent bird capable of social interactions. In recent years, the crow has become a muse to many artists.

Here's more information about the show:
It’s the Wooden Anniversary of the La Luz de Jesus Coaster Show. What started as a last minute substitution has grown into one of the most anticipated events of the LA Art Scene, now in its fifth year!
We’ve all done it. We’ve sat at the bar, drinking a beer and doodled on a coaster.
But most of us aren’t the extremely skilled painters, illustrators, animators, tattooists, sculptors or collage artists that are featured in this exhibition that takes a love of craft brewing and elevates it to high art.
We produced a custom canvas for some of our favorite gallery folks to do what they do best, and transform a 4″ tondo coaster into museum worthy exhibition pieces.
In the past four exhibitions we’ve had pieces by Ron English and Mark Ryden, given first exhibitions to hundreds of emerging artists and turned a few dozen newcomers into bonafide stars. This year, we’ll again dot our walls with tiny masterpieces priced $250 or less.
Patron’s with a purchase history get the option to buy early–so contact the director for details. Single coaster sales will be open to the general public on opening night.
Please join me at the SDCCU Festival of Arts in North Park, on May 20th, from 11am until10 pm. The gallery will be located at the corner of University Avenue and 31st Street near URBN Pizza and a block from live art on Herman Street and special art events at Art Produce.

Throughout the world, crows and ravens have taken on a special significance due to their dark presence in the skies and their surprising interaction in our communities.
In folklore, they appear frequently as both the hero and the villain. They arrive as tricksters, disguised sorcerers and experienced travelers. For some, the raven is associated with death, war and evil. For others, the crow appears with great wisdom, fertility and good news. The stories are as complex and surprising as the birds themselves.
Look out your window and you may spy these birds living among you. Crows and ravens are members of the Corvidea family, along with magpies and blue jays. They are found all over the globe with the only exception of Antarctica. The are considered to be extremely intelligent, social creatures.
In the art world, these magnificent birds appear with meaning and symbolism. The artist’s creative fascination makes them the perfect subject for an in-depth exploration of art being created by today’s artist. Visit The Crow Show '16 to see how artists question the meaning of Crows and Ravens in today’s world.
I will have two paintings in the Deliberate Distortions art show, taking place September 1st-26th, at The Studio Door in North Park. Here's a link to the website. The two paintings that I have in the show will be Coltrane, and Take 5.

My new painting "The Hand With The Knife", has been selected to take part in the "Once Upon A Time: Fairy Tales, Fables and Myths" art show at the The Studio Door, in San Diego. The painting is based off of a Grimm fairy tale bearing the same name. It's a disturbing tale of a little girl, her evil mother, three brothers and an adoring elf with a magic knife.
ONCE UPON A TIME: Fairy Tales, Fables and Myths is a juried exhibition of visual art running from June 2 - 28, 2015 at The Studio Door.
In the old times when wishing was still effective came the little stories that for generations explained our world and reflected our experiences. Stories when children, animals and heroes found themselves caught up in wondrous tales in distant lands.

The show will run from June 2nd - June 28th, 2015.
